Practical information
B-open is an annual event where professional artists in Bergen are invited to take part in our edition of open studios. Dates for B-open 2026 is 19.-20th of September. During the weekend public are invited to meet artists in their studios and collectives all over town. Studios in the center of town will have open studios Saturday, and studios outside the town center (Askøy, Minde, Sandviksbodene, Laksevåg , Fana etc) will be open on Sunday, both days from 12-17. Partaking artists commit to keep their studios open either Sat or Sun during 12-17, depending on the location of their studio.

Who can register to take part in B-open?
Professional artists located in the Bergen area can take part with open studios for free. You will need to have a Bachelor, Master-degree or Diploma within Arts from a Norwegian or foreign art educator. Applicants with no formal education is also welcome to apply but will be assessed based on artistic activity.

Registration for B-open 2026
If you are participating for the first time, you will need to create a new profile.
If you already have a profile, you register to take part in 2026 by simply updating your existing profile, by logging in at b-open.no .
All profiles are reviewed manually before publication. All fields must be fully completed for the page to be approved and published. Profiles will be published in intervals starting from mid-May.
Note: Each year we have to reset all profiles to pending in order to activate this years artists. You might get an email saying your status has been changed. The information on your account will not be afflicted by this.

Studio collectives
Registering of artist profiles is for artist who takes part with an open studio only. However, we also keep a list over artist collectives where partaking artists are located. Please check the information of the collectives here, and let us know if any changes has to be made. We would also like to be informed if the studio collective has access for wheelchairs. Please send an email to produksjon@b-open.no with updated info.

Artist’s profile
B-open’s website receives visitors all year round. By participating in the festival, your artist profile will be visible on our website until next year’s registration period. Take the time to update the information in your profile—read more about this here.

What’s on?
All artists will receive newsletters with important information about partaking and content leading up to the festival. The newsletters also gives information regarding promo material, invitations and so forth as we head towards opening of the festival. B-open facilitates a program including guided tours, transport and events for the public, and a guest program with invited curators that will visit partaking artists’ studios during the weekend.

The festival program will be announced in September 2026.

SoMe
We use our platform in social media to promote artists and collectives ahead and during the festival. Please share what you are up to through SoMe, and if you are taking part in B-open. Please tag us @b_open__ so we can share your posts.

Photo
B-open documents activities during the weekend, with a focus on artists’ studios and communication with the public. This is done by a professional photographer, and images are used to promote the festival on SoMe, to inform our collaborators and supporters regarding activity, and as archive material. If you do not want your photo to be taken, please notify us by sending a mail to produksjon@b-open.no
