Nikolai Kotlarcyzk is Kiosken Studio's September resident.

Kiosken Studio is the residency strand of Kiosken's interdisciplinary programming. We are excited to welcome audiences to encounter his work-in-progress during his time in residence at Kiosken.

About Nikolai Kotlarcyzk:
The Copenhagen based studio of Nikolai Kotlarczyk works across product and interior design. His work is grounded within each project's context of place - whether at home or abroad, translating and recontextualising his own experiences into objects and spaces that are both contemporary, yet contain elements of nostalgia. References to nature and architecture can be seen within work that is refined, yet decorative. Simple forms come together through iteration and development, creating pieces that contain a strong sense of character and community. His work champions natural materials and detailed craft through objects that retain a sense of the handmade within their final form.

Having studied interior design with experience across a number of fields within the design industry, he has worked with companies and organisations including Tait, Pulpo, New Works, The Mindcraft Project and Paper Collective. Now based in Copenhagen and educated in his native Australia, his experiences provide a unique insight into the design industry on an international level. His studio collaborates with companies in Europe and Australia, and has been featured in exhibitions in Milan, Stockholm, Paris, Copenhagen and Melbourne, amongst others.

Nikolai would like to acknowledge the traditional land of the Bundjalung people where he was born and raised.
