My name is Unn Devik, I am a recently graduated MFA student in Fine Arts, from the Faculty of Art, Music and Design at The University of Bergen. Throughout my degree I have been exploring the borders between fiction and reality, abstraction and figuration and the ways in which what is presented as reality can be defined as real. Drawing what I feel and see, in a digital age, when a lot of time is spent navigating a void of information on a square screen, is a way of rekindling a relationship with the physical space and the sites that surround me. No drawings are ever the same and its potential to present avenues leading to the creation of new artworks; unlimited. Each drawing becomes something of its own, so does every artwork deriving from a drawing, be it a painting, a comic/manga, a film or a sculpture. This is a process where every stage embeds its own visual language.
